My 52 weeks challenge, or how I decided to use my stash.
I have recently spent a lot of time on Pinterest gathering ideas on exercises to incorporate in my routine and correct my posture, recipes, how to organically grow beautiful vegetables… Most of all, I have been gathering a bunch of crafty ideas. I mean, who would not want to make this adorable cork reindeer, or this cute whale made out of old jeans?
Yesterday, as I was browsing again, I realized that I did not need to spend more time browsing for ideas. I did not need to start making a mental list of the things I need to buy to make this or that. What I need, is to start completing my many unfinished projects, and use up my craft supplies. Here, I said it, I am going to finish up things…
So here is what I decided: 1) over the next year (52 weeks), I will aim to complete 1 project a week. 2) Except for notions (buttons, thread, zippers…), or something that is absolutely necessary to finish a project (ie. I have one sock done, and I need yarn to make a second one), I will not buy any supplies!
When I told this to my dear hubby, his scientific brain immediately got in action, and he said: “52 projects! One project a week! This is impossible!” I do not know what the result of this experiment will be, but I know I will enjoy the journey, and I hope you’ll enjoy it with me.
You go, girl! You’ve inspired me to my own 52-week project: working on my cookbook “stash!” I’ll be trying one new recipe per week from one of my many cookbooks. Should be tasty! 🙂
Thanks Lezlie! I can’t wait to hear about the delicious dishes you make. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to taste one 😉
